Attendance

Attendance matters every for every student every day.

If students are not at school, we can't help them learn.  It's really that simple.

Because we care deeply about student learning, we also track student attendance and look for ways to help families have systems in place that make it easier for them to get their student at school every day and on time.  Our Student Support Team works to meet with families to problem-solve and incentivize attendance through Breakfast Club and treats every now and again for students who are present and on time.  Whole classrooms also earn incentives when they have 100% attendance.

Because attendance is so important, we look for students to be present at least 90% of the days they're enrolled.  In a school year of 180 days, this means a student missing 2 days per month for any reason is at risk of falling behind academically - and even at risk of not graduating from high school on time.  Please check here for information for families about the importance of regular attendance.

That said, we also understand when there are real reasons a student cannot be at school.  Please report absences to the office as soon as you know about them.  You can do this through Infinite Campus or by giving us a call.

** Please note, there are no excused absences, even for medical reasons.  A student may be excluded, however, if sent home from the school clinic for some reason (fever, vomiting, diarrhea) or if there is a note from a medical provider.
